Kelvin Yeboah scored two goals and Hassani Dotson also scored to lead Minnesota United to a 3-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Saturday night in Saint Paul, Minn.

It was the second brace in six matches for Yeboah, who signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Loons in July as a designated player. Yeboah has now scored seven goals in six matches with Minnesota and has a four-match goal streak.

Robin Lod had his 15th assist of the year on Yeboah’s first goal of the night to tie Minnesota’s single-season assist record. Dayne St. Clair finished with one save for his fifth clean sheet of 2024 for the Loons (13-12-6, 45 points), who moved into eighth place in the Western Conference with their fourth win in five matches.

Zack Steffen made seven saves for Colorado (15-11-5, 50 points).

Minnesota dominated the first half while taking a 1-0 lead, finishing with a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal. Yeboah scored his first goal at the 16-minute mark when he redirected Lod’s bouncing shot from the right side of the box into the right corner of the net.

Colorado had a chance to tie the match in the 25th minute when Djordje Mihailovic blasted a right-footed shot from above the middle of the box, but St. Clair made a diving deflection.

Yeboah made it 2-0 in the 47th minute when he took a Joaquin Pereyra pass in the middle of the box and quickly spun and fired a right-footed shot into the left side of the net.

Dotson extended the lead to 3-0 in the 82nd minute when he dribbled across the top of the box and booted a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner of the net for his fourth goal of the season.

Minnesota finished with a 16-4 edge in shot attempts, including a 10-1 advantage in shots on goal.
