Brown doesn’t seem to pull any punches in his four-part Instagram post where he says that Diddy’s on-and-off-again girlfriend Kim Porter’s 2018 death was a “tragic murder.” Brown posted to his social media account his accusation, stating that “Kimberly was allegedly taken from us because she was set on course to accomplish what Mrs. Cassie Ventura did by igniting the Bon Fire (sic) which brings us here today.” In late 2023, Ventura and Combs reached a settlement agreement in a civil suit brought by the singer/model ex-girlfriend of the entertainer in which she alleged that he sexually assaulted her and controlled all aspects of her life.
Ventura’s suit against Diddy didn’t detail any of the events surrounding Kim Porter’s death or any accusations of murder. But it did open up the floodgates and rush in waves of additional civil lawsuits against Combs, culminating in the multiple federal criminal charges against him filed by prosecutors. Combs is still being held without bail, after his bond appeal brought by his attorneys failed to persuade a judge to set him free.
