BetBoom lead Dream League as Group Stage 2 nears end

BetBoom Team swept Team Spirit 2-0 on Wednesday and emerged alone in first place in Group Stage 2 at the DreamLeague Season 24 event.

With a 5-1 mark, BetBoom sit just about Team Spirit, PARIVISION and Team Falcons, who are all 4-2 entering the final day of group action.

PARIVISION fell 2-0 to Tundra Esports on Wednesday, while Team Falcons downed Team Waska 2-0. Team Liquid hold fifth place at 3-3 following a 2-0 victory over Xtreme Gaming.

Group Stage 1 featured two groups competing in single round-robin play, with all matches consisting of two games. The top four teams from each group moved on to Group Stage 2.

The eight teams that advanced to Group Stage 2 are playing each other in a lone round-robin group. All matches are best-of-three, and the two best squads will land in the upper bracket of the playoffs, the third- and fourth-place teams will head to the lower bracket of the playoffs and the remaining four teams will be eliminated.

Group Stage 2 runs through Thursday.

The playoffs, which start on Saturday, will feature a double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three aside from the best-of-five grand final on Sunday. The winner will take home $300,000 of the $1 million prize pool.

On Wednesday, BetBoom got past Team Spirit in 38 minutes on green and 46 minutes on red. Russia’s Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko paced BetBoom with an average kill-death-assist ratio of 8.0/2.5/12.0. Russia’s Denis “Larl” Sigitov finished at 6.5/2.5/9.0 for Spirit.

Tundra topped PARIVISION in 36 minutes on red and 39 minutes on green. Ukraine’s Artem “lorenof” Melnick registered a 10.0/2.5/16.5 K-D-A ratio for Tundra. Ukraine’s Volodymyr “No(o)ne-” Minenko wound up at 8.5/7.0/8.0.

Team Falcons bested Waska in 39 minutes on green and 53 minutes on red. Jordan’s Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf produced a 9/3/15 K-D-A ratio for Team Falcons. Peru’s Yheremi “payk” Arroyo ended up at 5.5/4.5/7.5 for Waska.

Team Liquid toppled Xtreme Gaming in 39 minutes on red and 27 minutes on green. Sweden’s Michael “miCKe” Vu compiled an 11.5/0.5/12.5 K-D-A ratio for Liquid. Wang “Ame” Chunyu logged a 3.5/4.5/3.5 K-D-A ratio for Xtreme Gaming’s all-Chinese roster.

Group Stage 2 concludes Thursday with four matches:

–BetBoom Team vs. Team Liquid

–Team Spirit vs. Team Falcons

–Team Waska vs. Tundra Esports
