Unlike Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson’s sketch comedy show, I Think You Should Leave, Detroiters has at least the shades of a grounded plot, with the backstories of the main characters containing some classic sitcom elements like jobs and romantic entanglements.

Both I Think You Should Leave and Detroiters are now streaming on Netflix, and fans of the more recent and more surreal I Think You Should Leave can check out Sam and Tim’s earlier project if they haven’t already. The format of Detroiters is more traditional than that of I Think You Should Leave, but the comedy style is classic Sam and Tim.
